Will a Shimano 12-speed Micro Spline cassette fit on an HG body?
No. Shimano 12-speed MTB cassettes (XT/SLX/Deore) use the Micro Spline body, which has different splines from HG and a 10-tooth start. You need a hub with a Micro Spline body. It is not compatible with HG or with XD/XDR.
