Will a Shimano 12-speed Micro Spline cassette fit on an HG body?
No. Micro Spline and HG are physically different interfaces: Micro Spline has 23 splines (body ~26 mm, 10-tooth start), HG has 9 (body ~35 mm). A Shimano 12-speed MTB Micro Spline cassette (XT/SLX/Deore) won't engage an HG body: you need a Micro Spline body, and it isn't compatible with XD/XDR either. Note: Shimano road 12-speed does NOT use Micro Spline (it uses a dedicated HG body).
